The first thing that must be remembered of Ash, but which in many, however, tend to forget, is that he, having earned the title of MASTER OF Kanto's BATTLE FRONTIER, is also the EIGHTH FRONTIER BRAIN of his region, but Ash refused temporarily to fill the role in order to continue his journey. So, actually, he already holds an important title close to that of Pokémon Master, but as we all know, the goal that Ash really want to achieve is the last one.

In the course of his journey, Ash has participated in many tournaments and leagues of any kind. Let's see what are all the titles he has received, and consequently the number of awards.

Most important titles

Orange League Champion
Master of Kanto's Battle Frontier,
and 8th Frontier Brain
Semi-finalist (top 4) at the Sinnoh League (but the moral winner, because he was the only one who defeat not only Tobia's Darkrai, but also his Latios)
Runner-Up at Lumiose Conference (But also in this case moral winner, for his unjustified defeat. Also some animation directors of the anime have  expressed their disagreement about it)

Regarding the other leagues, Ash is in the top 16 trainers in the Indigo League (a good position, because that's the first League in which he participated) and in Top 8 at the Silver Conference (Johto) and Hoenn Ever Grande Conference.

Success in other tournaments

In addition to Pokémon Leagues, Ash also took part in other secondary tournaments. Let's see those in which he won trophies:

P1 Grand Prix, in which his Primeape won the belt in the episode of first series: "The Punchy Pokémon"
Pokémon Sumo Championships, in wich Ash, along with his Snorlax, has won a King's Rock and an Annual Pokéfood supply (immediately devoured by Snorlax), in the episode "Ring Masters" of the series Johto League Champions
Crossgate Town PokéRinger Tournament in wich Ash has won honorary citizenship of the town (episode "That's Just Swellow" of the Advanced Challenge series)
Hearthome City Tag Battle Competition, in wich Ash, teamed with Paul, has won a Soothe Bell (episode: "Smells Like Team Spirit", series Diamond & Pearl)

The tournament of Twinleaf Festival, in which Ash has won a trophy and privilege to challenge Tower Tycoon Palmer (episode: "Challenging a Towering Figure!" of the series DP Galactic Battles)

Other trophies won in secondary competitions

Ash has also participated in many other competitions, always focused on Pokémon, but that aren't related to the classical battles:

The Pokémon Race sponsored by Laramie's Clan, in which Ash won first place riding Lara Laramie's Ponyta (which after evolved into Rapidash) (episode "The Flame Pokémon-Athon", in the first series)
The Bug-Catching Contest at Johto's National Park, in which Ash has won a Sun Stone and a Beedril, which was later gifted to Casey. (episode: "The Bug Stops Here" series Johto League Champions)
The Hot air balloon race, in which he participated with his Noctowl in team with Misty and Brock. They won on a par with the team of Skyler and his father, to which the protagonists have decided to give the balloon burner as a prize.

The Triathlon of Pokémon Summer Accademy, in which he won the final race and he also received, as all other trainers, a commemorative plaque for have participated at the event (episode: " One Team, Two Team, Red Team, Blue Team!")

Positions in which he is placed in competitions he didn't win

Pokémon Contests

Ash has also participated at several Pokémon Contests, for fun and to help his friends May and Dawn, although he is not at all prepared for this type of competition, as admitted by the same Ash, whom, being focused on the effectiveness of the moves, tends to forget to present them elegantly.

Despite this, Ash has always carefully observed the Pokémon Contests, from which he's often able to draw inspiration for some of his most spectacular battle moves (to learn more go to THIS LINK).

Below, here's Pokémon Contests to which he took part, with all the positions in which he is classified:

Pokémon Contest in Terracotta Town, in which he won on a par with May (episode: "Home is Where the Start is", series Battle Frontier)
Pokémon Contest in Hearthome City, in which he is ranked in the Top 8 (episode "Arrival of a Rival!", series Diamond & Pearl)
Wallace Cup, in which he is ranked in the Top 8 (episodio "Pruning a Passel of Pals!", series DP Battle Dimension)
